Navigating the legal landscape
Can you briefly describe your role at IDO and your tenure with the IDO?
I have been with the IDO for over five years. As one of the Senior Legal Counsel, I am involved in the management of a team of legal counsel and provide legal advice to the IDO and the IDO Group on a wide range of matters such as corporate and commercial mandates, financings, and HR-related matters as well as on key projects across the Emirate.

What attracted you to IDO, and what keeps you here?
When I joined the IDO Legal and Risk team, the team was comprised mostly of a small number of lawyers. Since then, we have grown the legal team and added the translation, risk, and corporate governance functions.
I joined the IDO because of its and the Emirate’s ambitions to grow and develop which made for a very exciting challenge.
How was your transition to living in RAK?
My family and I found the transition to living in Ras Al Khaimah very easy. The people here are very welcoming and supportive and the quality of life is excellent.
Employees are encouraged to take initiative and contribute to the IDO’s goals, to foster personal growth.
How would you characterize the culture and work environment at IDO?
We work in an environment where the success of the Emirate and the well-being of its residents are at the core of what we do. The mandate set by our board is clear and they provide the support and leadership required to help us deliver on the Emirate’s ambitions.
What do you enjoy most about working at IDO?
The team and the breadth and variety of work.
